What happened: The NFL transaction wire made Deebo Samuel’s uniform change official Friday.

Why it matters: No. 19 was his number from 2019 through 2023 before he changed to No. 1 in 2024. The switch adds another familiar element to Samuel’s return on a one-year, $7 million deal.

By the numbers: Samuel wore No. 19 for five seasons from 2019-23, followed by No. 1.

What to watch: His next preseason appearance will mark the return of No. 19.
