What happened: Stefon Diggs scored his first touchdown with the Washington Commanders on Sunday. His goalpost celebration drew a penalty before Washington's game-tying two-point attempt.

Why it matters: The score gave Washington a late chance to pull even in its 2026 opener. The penalty added immediate cost to Diggs' first Commanders touchdown, turning a debut milestone into a tougher conversion sequence.

What to watch: Watch whether Washington changes anything around celebration discipline after the flag. Diggs' role in the rebuilt passing game remains the larger Week 1 takeaway.
