What happened: Free-agent center Dwight Powell is signing with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce to play for head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, per Marc Stein. The agreement comes after Dallas waived Powell on Oct. 19 following training camp. Powell was unable to secure a regular-season roster spot with the Mavericks holding 15 guaranteed contracts.

Why it matters: The move marks Powell's first professional tenure outside North America after spending over a decade as a frontcourt fixture in Dallas. For Fenerbahce, the 35-year-old big man adds immediate size and veteran interior depth for their EuroLeague campaign. Dallas moves forward with its reconfigured rotation after starting the season 3-2.

What to watch: Powell will finalize terms and travel to Istanbul to complete his transition to the EuroLeague roster. His formal integration and debut timeline will be confirmed once the contract is finalized.
