What happened: Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates evaluated historical safety rankings when questioned about the position's greatest players. Bates noted the challenge of narrowing the list down to a standard five-player group.

Why it matters: Bates remains a central figure in Atlanta's secondary as the team seeks stability in the NFC standings. The defense helped secure a 29-20 victory against the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 25, lifting the club to 3-4 on the year.

What to watch: Atlanta prepares for its next regular-season matchup looking to level its record at 4-4.
