What happened: The Atlanta Falcons have signed second-round cornerback Avieon Terrell to a fully guaranteed contract. The 48th overall pick is the lowest draft selection to receive a fully guaranteed deal, per Rapoport. The contract was negotiated by David Mulugheta of Athletes First.

Why it matters: Fully guaranteed second-round deals have become a flashpoint in NFL contract negotiations, with each new agreement pushing the precedent deeper into Day 2 of the draft. Terrell setting a new low-water mark at pick 48 strengthens leverage for future second-round picks and their agents. It also signals Atlanta's commitment to a cornerback room that now pairs Avieon with his older brother A.J. Terrell.

What to watch: Watch whether other late second-round picks in the 2026 class follow Terrell's lead in securing full guarantees. Terrell now turns to offseason work as he competes for a defensive role in Atlanta's secondary.
