What happened: New York moved on three weeks after signing Ward Oct. 1 off Minnesota's practice squad. He appeared in two games for New York with 41 defensive snaps and one tackle.

Why it matters: The move opens a roster spot on the edge rotation entering Week 7. Ward, a 2016 second-round pick out of Illinois, has filled depth roles across multiple stops.

By the numbers: Ward: 31 tackles, 5 sacks in 17 games with Tennessee in 2025; 1 tackle, 41 snaps in 2 games with New York in 2026. Drafted 44th overall in 2016 out of Illinois.

What to watch: New York has an open roster spot ahead of its next game. Ward is now free to sign elsewhere.
