What happened: The New York Giants traded up to the 74th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft third round. They did not originally hold a third-round selection. This follows their first-round picks of Ohio State LB Arvell Reese at No. 5 overall and Miami OT Francis Mauigoa at No. 10, after a blockbuster trade for high selections.

Why it matters: The move underscores GM Joe Schoen's aggressive draft strategy to bolster the roster quickly. Adding another early Day 2 talent enhances depth for the 2026 season. It reflects ongoing efforts to rebuild amid recent draft investments.

What to watch: Giants are on the clock at No. 74; monitor their selection and potential further trades.
