What happened: After Manchester City's 3-0 win over Brentford, Pep Guardiola said "to be honest? YES!" when asked if he would watch Arsenal's match against West Ham. The comment underlined City's dependence on Arsenal dropping points as the Premier League title race enters its final stretch.

Why it matters: The remark matters because Arsenal still control the race despite City closing the gap on Saturday. If Arsenal keep winning, City cannot catch them; if Arsenal slip at West Ham, Manchester City's title hopes stay alive heading into the final weeks.

By the numbers: Arsenal entered the weekend five points clear with three matches left, while City had a game in hand. City's win over Brentford reduced the gap to two points before Arsenal's trip to West Ham. Arsenal's remaining league fixtures listed in current coverage are West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace; City's are Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

What to watch: Watch the West Ham-Arsenal result on Sunday, May 10, 2026, for the next swing in the title race. Any Arsenal dropped points would hand City a fresh opening with their remaining fixtures still to come.
