What happened: The Atlanta Hawks selected St. John's forward Zuby Ejiofor with the 23rd overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The selection came via a pick originally tied to Cleveland.

Why it matters: The pick gives Atlanta added frontcourt depth as it shapes its rotation heading into the 2026-27 season. Late first-round bigs offer cost-controlled depth on rookie-scale deals, and Ejiofor joins a Hawks draft class that also added higher-pick talent.

What to watch: Watch for how Ejiofor factors into Atlanta's frontcourt rotation through Summer League and training camp ahead of the 2026-27 season.
