What happened: Connor Hellebuyck addressed Winnipeg Jets fans for the first time since his trade to the New Jersey Devils, explaining his decision to request a trade out of Winnipeg. He called that decision "extremely difficult." New Jersey acquired him from the Jets on Oct. 23 for Mercer, Command, Bjugstad and picks.

Why it matters: The message is the first public word from Hellebuyck to Winnipeg supporters since the move, and it puts his own reasoning on the record rather than leaving the request to speculation. He has since said he is ready to play for New Jersey.
