What happened: Jacob MacIntyre has signed a new three-year contract extension with Hibernian, securing his future at Easter Road until summer 2029. The 20-year-old midfielder, a product of the club's academy, recently returned to the squad following a successful season-long loan in the Scottish Championship.

Why it matters: The deal underlines Hibs' strategy of integrating homegrown talent into the first team under head coach David Gray. MacIntyre's development through consecutive loan spells at Kelty Hearts and Arbroath has positioned him to compete for a senior role in the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.

What to watch: MacIntyre is expected to join the first-team squad for pre-season training as he vies for a place in the matchday rotation.
