Four takeaways from Wednesday, including Jaelan Phillips expected to miss some time https://t.co/Ou1sqfIQ0n Via @Panthers on X

What happened: The outside linebacker sat out Wednesday's Week 7 practice and faces an absence from the active lineup.

Why it matters: Losing the veteran edge rusher thins the defensive front's pass-rushing depth entering the Week 7 slate.

By the numbers: Selected 18th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Phillips recorded 53 tackles and 5 sacks across 17 games in 2025, per ESPN (as of Sept. 29, 2026).

What to watch: Thursday and Friday practice designations will determine his official status for the Week 7 game.
