Waived by Pelicans ahead of opening week

The Jazz are signing Kobe Bufkin, per source, to Utah’s newly-opened two-way slot. Via @JakeLFischer on X

What happened: The slot opened during Utah's roster cutdown. Bufkin was waived by New Orleans ahead of the season.

Why it matters: A two-way deal keeps Utah's backcourt depth flexible without using a standard roster spot. It gives Bufkin a development path after his preseason waiver.

What to watch: Utah must still make the move official. Bufkin's availability for upcoming games is next.
