What happened: Wagler reached the regular-season scoring column on Thursday while also clearing the three-assist mark in backcourt action. The milestone follows an exhibition slate in which Wagler connected from deep three-point range and recorded an eight-point outing on 2-of-4 perimeter shooting.

Why it matters: Converting his initial NBA field goal early settles the rookie into regular-season rotation minutes after progressing through Summer League and preseason camp. Pairing perimeter shooting with secondary playmaking gives the top-five draft selection an immediate role in the backcourt rotation.

What to watch: Wagler continues his rookie campaign as the 2026-27 regular-season schedule moves through its opening week.
