What happened: Fabrizio Romano reports Jakub Kiwior's move from Arsenal to FC Porto has turned permanent, as expected. The deal is a €17m fixed fee with €5m in add-ons and a €2m sell-on cut for Arsenal from any future sale. A €70m release clause is also written into the contract.

Why it matters: The transfer closes the book on Kiwior's Arsenal tenure and gives Porto a long-term centre-back with Premier League experience under contract terms that protect both clubs. The €70m release clause sets a clear ceiling for future suitors, while the sell-on percentage keeps Arsenal exposed to upside if Kiwior's value rises in Portugal. It also follows Porto's 31st Portuguese league title, signaling continued investment in the squad's defensive spine.

What to watch: Watch for Porto's official announcement and squad registration ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Arsenal's reinvestment of the fee into their own centre-back depth is the next domino.
