Klay Thompson in the house 🙌 The 4x @NBA Champion and member of the @dallasmavs is out showing his support for the @Dal

What happened: Four-time NBA champion and Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson is courtside for the Dallas Wings' WNBA Pride night meeting with the Chicago Sky. He is on hand to back the home side as the teams trade baskets early, with Chicago holding a narrow 32-31 edge.

Why it matters: A Mavericks star turning up for the Wings underscores the growing crossover between Dallas' NBA and WNBA franchises and the visibility WNBA Pride night draws to the home crowd. The appearance keeps the same Klay Thompson in the news cycle off the court as he lends his profile to the women's game.

By the numbers: Dallas entered the night at 11-6, well clear of Chicago at 4-12. The Wings took the most recent meeting 99-89 in Chicago on May 20 and have leaned on defense, allowing 82.6 points per game; the Sky have surrendered 89.5 per game this season.

What to watch: The Sky and Wings continue their Pride-night matchup in Dallas, with the early margin still inside a single possession.
