What happened: Kris Dunn delivered an assist on a three-point field goal by Kobe during Sunday's regular-season contest. Dunn had also connected on a three-pointer of his own earlier in the game.

Why it matters: The perimeter playmaking builds on Dunn's promotion to the starting shooting guard spot for the 2026-27 campaign after his contract was guaranteed on June 30. Sustaining secondary ball movement and outside shooting is central to his fit alongside the first-unit offense.

What to watch: Dunn's offensive workload and backcourt rotation minutes will carry into the upcoming slate of early regular-season games.
