What happened: Liverpool will sign 16-year-old center-back Dara Jikiemi from Celtic, per Fabrizio Romano. The prospect joins a developing backline that recently added Jeremy Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni.

Why it matters: The youth movement bolsters a roster facing the departures of experienced veterans Ibrahima Konaté and Andy Robertson. Securing Jikiemi provides positive momentum after the club reportedly fell behind Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit of winger Yan Diomande.

What to watch: Jikiemi is expected to join the Liverpool academy setup as the club continues its summer recruitment under Andoni Iraola.
