What happened: The 29-year-old veteran guard is reversing his initial not-guilty plea after being indicted alongside five others earlier this year, per Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic. Federal prosecutors alleged that Beasley intentionally altered his statistical output across four games with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2023-24 season to rig prop wagers and pay off a loan debt.

Why it matters: The federal probe derailed Beasley's free agency directly after a 2024-25 campaign in which he finished runner-up for NBA Sixth Man of the Year, following nine NBA seasons and roughly $60 million in career earnings. His plea marks another federal conviction tied to NBA markets since the Supreme Court struck down the federal wagering ban in 2018, a category of scandal the NFL has avoided to date.

What to watch: Beasley is scheduled to formally enter his guilty plea in federal court on Dec. 9, setting the stage for sentencing.
