What happened: The Seattle Mariners posted a hype video counting down less than a week to Opening Day. The team named Logan Gilbert as their Opening Day starter. Shortstop J.P. Crawford remains uncertain for the opener due to a shoulder injury, per MLB.com reports.

Why it matters: As 2025 AL West champions and current favorites with heavy betting action, a strong start bolsters playoff. Crawford's status could force lineup tweaks, impacting early game lines, props, and infield defense. Rotation health concerns for Gilbert, Woo, Kirby, and Castillo add risk to season projections.

What to watch: Monitor Crawford's injury update and final spring tune-ups for lineup confirmation. Watch Opening Day matchup reveal and initial futures line movements.
