It took until Game 15, but McKenna finally walked into the Maple Leafs’ dressing room and saw his name to the left of Ma Via @Sportsnet on X

What happened: Toronto slotted McKenna on the left wing upon arrival at the dressing room, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet. McKenna called the promotion "a little bit of a boost of confidence" as he lines up opposite Roslovic.

Why it matters: The assignment pairs McKenna and Matthews after the duo worked on building chemistry ahead of Maple Leafs camp. The lineup adjustment follows general manager John Chayka backing Hiller on McKenna's deployment earlier this week.

What to watch: The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday, Oct. 28, with puck drop scheduled for 10:00 PM ET.
