Why it matters: Producing twice as many explosive receptions as any peer at the position separates Bowers as the premier vertical tight end threat of the 2026 regular season. That big-play ceiling also placed him atop Boone's Week 8 tight end trade chart, where only three players at the position cleared a 50 rating in half-PPR formats.

By the numbers: 2026 20-plus-yard receptions among tight ends (per PFF): Brock Bowers 18, Isaiah Likely 9, George Kittle 9, Travis Kelce 9, Sam LaPorta 8. Through five games this season, Bowers recorded 34 catches for 455 yards and three touchdowns, putting him on a full-season pace for 116 receptions, 1,547 yards and 10 touchdowns.

What to watch: Watch whether Likely, Kittle, Kelce or LaPorta can narrow the nine-catch gap as Week 9 regular-season play continues.
