What happened: Outfielder Mike Trout and shortstop Zach Neto were named finalists for the 2026 Silver Slugger Award. The annual honors recognize top offensive performers across Major League Baseball at each position.

Why it matters: The nomination highlights a breakout season for Neto, who reached the 20-20 threshold while providing 27 home runs at shortstop. For Trout, the finalist nod marks another elite offensive milestone as the veteran outfielder remains a core offensive anchor.

What to watch: Winners for the 2026 Silver Slugger Awards will be revealed during Major League Baseball's offseason awards announcements.
