What happened: Hunter Goodman was named a finalist for the 2026 Silver Slugger Award on Thursday. The selection marks his first career finalist nomination following an offensive breakthrough in Denver.

Why it matters: Goodman established himself as a central power threat after being likened to Josh Donaldson earlier in the summer. His production solidifies his place as an offensive cornerstone as clubs evaluate winter roster construction.

What to watch: Major League Baseball will announce the Silver Slugger Award winners following voting by league managers and coaches.
