What happened: AS Monaco and Besiktas have reached an agreement for the transfer of 21-year-old left-back Kassoum Ouattara, per Foot Mercato. The reported package is worth €8m with a further €2m in add-ons. The France youth international is set to travel to Istanbul to complete his medical, choosing the switch despite reported interest from Hull City.

Why it matters: Ouattara had initially been expected to stay after Caio Henrique's permanent departure to Ajax, but the young Frenchman pushed for the exit. Monaco have already moved to reshape the position, confirming the arrival of Nazinho from Cercle Brugge, and the club's traffic in the left-back slot may not be finished. For Besiktas, the deal lands a highly-rated developmental full-back with senior European pedigree.

What to watch: Ouattara is expected in Istanbul in the coming hours for his medical, with an official announcement to follow. Watch whether Monaco pursue further left-back reinforcement given the volume of turnover in the position.
