What happened: On the morning of the NBA Draft, the league's broadcast analysts singled out guard Darryn Peterson with high praise as one of the class of 2026's headline prospects. The endorsement lands hours before teams at the top of the board make their picks.

Why it matters: Peterson has been a fixture near the top of draft projections all spring, and a strong pre-draft impression from evaluators reinforces his case to come off the board early. Where he lands shapes the rebuild timeline for whichever franchise grabs him.

What to watch: Watch where Peterson is selected once the draft opens tonight and which team commits to building around him.
