What happened: McLaren's Lando Norris set the fastest time in final practice for the Mexico City Grand Prix, finishing 0.001s ahead of Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli. Charles Leclerc was third.

Why it matters: Antonelli arrives off a pole-to-flag win in Austin, his ninth victory of 2026, and had topped the timesheet earlier with a 1:17.601. Norris and McLaren, who said in June they were 'three months behind' in development, have now closed to within a thousandth of the Mercedes driver.

What to watch: Qualifying follows later today at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, with Norris, Antonelli and Leclerc setting the pace.
