What happened: The Edmonton Oilers unveiled an alternate black uniform accented with orange and storm grey detailing. The design features the return of the franchise's classic oil rig worker crest.

Why it matters: The rig worker crest originally debuted in 2001 as part of an alternate uniform designed with comic artist Todd McFarlane. Its reintroduction restores one of the franchise's notable early-2000s looks to the modern rotation.

What to watch: The club opened sales for the newly unveiled apparel through its official team store.
