What happened: Kevin Roberts Jr., a Mississippi prep outfielder who had signed to play at Florida, agreed to a contract with the Baltimore Orioles as their fourth-round pick. He received a $1 million signing bonus.

Why it matters: The bonus is $288,200 above the $711,800 slot value assigned to the 110th overall pick, an over-slot deal that signals the Orioles' confidence in his upside. Signing pulls Roberts out of his college commitment and into Baltimore's farm system.

What to watch: Roberts begins his professional career in the Orioles organization.
