What happened: Fabrizio Romano reports that Ousmane Dembélé has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Season for 2025-26. The award caps a campaign in which Dembélé was a central figure for PSG, who also advanced deep in the Champions League. It is the latest individual recognition for the France international.

Why it matters: The honor underscores Dembélé's emergence as PSG's offensive focal point in the post-Mbappé era and validates Luis Enrique's faith in him as a primary attacker. Coming alongside PSG's Champions League run, it cements his case as one of the league's defining players this season. Individual hardware also tends to factor into Ballon d'Or conversations later in the year.

What to watch: Watch for PSG's remaining Ligue 1 fixtures and the Champions League final, where Dembélé's form will be tested on the biggest stage. Additional end-of-season awards and Ballon d'Or shortlist updates are the next markers.
