What happened: Carolina and quarterback Bryce Young never came close to agreeing on an extension, per ProFootballRumors. Young, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft out of Alabama, is still without a new deal.

Why it matters: Talks made little progress before the season. The Panthers are 3-4 and coming off a 27-19 loss at Green Bay on Oct. 29, their second straight defeat.

By the numbers: 2025: 304 of 478 passing (63.6%), 3,011 yards, 23 touchdowns, 11 interceptions in 16 games.

What to watch: Young's contract status stays unresolved while Carolina, 3-4, works through the rest of its schedule.
