For the first time in his career, Jhoan Duran is an All-Star! ⭐ https://t.co/mKE6inQ3p2

What happened: Jhoan Duran has been selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career. The honor recognizes the Philadelphia Phillies closer's strong 2026 season.

Why it matters: Duran's selection gives Philadelphia representation from the back end of its bullpen. His late-inning performance remains important as the Phillies pursue a postseason berth.

By the numbers: Duran posted a 1.57 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 44 strikeouts across 28 2/3 innings in his first 30 appearances of 2026. He also recorded his 20th save on June 26 after missing time with a strained left oblique.

What to watch: Duran's workload and availability before the All-Star Game will be worth monitoring.
