What happened: The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly targeting Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki and Jo Adell as they look to bolster an outfield depleted by injury. The pursuit follows a season-ending torn lat for star outfielder Adolis García, leaving the Phillies 'desperate' for right-handed hitting depth.

Why it matters: Philadelphia's lineup has struggled significantly against left-handed pitching this season, ranking last in MLB with a .589 OPS from right-handed hitters. The Philadelphia Phillies currently trail the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 in a series tied 1-1, highlighting the immediate need for offensive reinforcements.

What to watch: Philadelphia will monitor Suzuki's willingness to waive his no-trade clause as trade talks intensify ahead of the deadline.
