What happened: Crystal Palace have confirmed the appointment of Pierre Sage as their new head coach, signing the Frenchman to a three-year contract. Sage arrives from RC Lens, where he recently completed a standout campaign that included a domestic trophy and a top-two league finish.

Why it matters: The appointment marks a bold shift for the South London club following the exit of Oliver Glasner. Pierre Sage is expected to implement his high-pressing system as the Eagles prepare for a return to European competition in the Europa League.

What to watch: Sage will begin preseason preparations immediately as Palace look to rebuild the squad following the high-profile departures of Eberechi Eze and Marc Guéhi.
