Happy Birthday, Tru!💙🥳 @tru_kenu16 https://t.co/yQcgbvXqJS

What happened: The Los Angeles Rams issued a social media birthday greeting to wide receiver Tru Edwards as he turns 25. Edwards, the son of former NFL receiver Troy Edwards, is currently competing for a depth role in the Rams' receiving corps during the 2026 offseason.

Why it matters: Edwards originally joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana Tech in 2025. After spending his rookie season on the practice squad, he signed a reserve/future contract in January 2026, signaling the team's continued interest in developing his 6-foot-3 frame for the upcoming season.

By the numbers: Edwards recorded 1,061 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns across his final two seasons at Louisiana Tech before turning professional. He currently wears #16 for the Rams and is listed at 211 pounds, providing significant size for the team's developmental roster.

What to watch: The Rams will continue their offseason program as Edwards and other young skill players vie for roster spots ahead of training camp in July.
