What happened: ESPN NFL analyst Randy Moss pointed to an ineffective rushing attack as the root of the offensive issues plaguing the Seattle Seahawks. Moss stated that when opposing defenses do not honor the run, the play-action passing game ceases to work.

Why it matters: Play-action concepts rely on linebackers and safeties stepping up toward the line of scrimmage to respect the handoff, which opens throwing lanes downfield. Without a credible rushing threat forcing defenders to commit to the box, coverage units can stay in their pass drops and take away intermediate routes.

What to watch: Seattle's scheduled game has not started yet as the offense looks to re-establish its ground game.
