What happened: Rayo Vallecano eliminated Strasbourg in the UEFA Conference League semifinals, booking a spot in the final against Crystal Palace. The Madrid side, drawn from the working-class Vallecas neighborhood, completed the upset to reach their first major European final. Fabrizio Romano confirmed the result alongside the official bracket.

Why it matters: This is a landmark moment for a club whose fanbase still queues in person for tickets rather than buying online. Reaching a UEFA final puts Rayo on the brink of continental silverware and a guaranteed European group-stage payday next season. The all-underdog final pairs them with Crystal Palace, who are also chasing their first major European trophy.

What to watch: Watch for the Conference League final date, venue, and opening odds. Rayo's domestic form and squad availability between now and the final will shape how live the underdog tag really is.
