What happened: Fabrizio Romano confirms Rúben Amorim has signed his contract to become the new head coach of AC Milan through June 2028. The formal agreement includes a two-year guaranteed term with an option for an additional season, finalizing the Portuguese manager's move to the San Siro.

Why it matters: Amorim replaces Massimiliano Allegri after a 2025-26 campaign where Milan finished fifth and missed Champions League qualification. The arrival of Rúben Amorim follows his January dismissal from Manchester United, where he struggled to implement his tactical philosophy over a 14-month tenure.

What to watch: Amorim is expected to begin summer training preparations immediately with a focus on tactical restructuring. Official introductory events at the San Siro are anticipated later this week.
