What happened: AC Milan have reached a total agreement with Ruben Amorim to take over as the club's new head coach. The Portuguese tactician is expected to arrive in Milan as early as Monday to formalize the deal and sign his contract.

Why it matters: The move marks Amorim's return to the sideline just five months after his departure from Manchester United. He replaces Massimiliano Allegri, who was dismissed in late May, as the Rossoneri look to stabilize after evaluating several high-profile candidates.

What to watch: Official confirmation is expected following the signing of documents this week. Milan's pre-season schedule includes a high-profile friendly against Amorim's former club, Manchester United, on August 15.
