What happened: The Cincinnati Reds (34-37) are scheduled to host the New York Mets (32-40) for the final matchup of their three-game set on Wednesday afternoon. Cincinnati has controlled the series thus far, outscoring New York 17-3 over the first two contests to secure a series victory.

Why it matters: The Reds look to capitalize on their momentum against a Mets team struggling to find consistency. New York sends Nolan McLean (3-4, 4.01 ERA) to the mound to face Cincinnati left-hander Nick Lodolo (2-1, 5.21 ERA) in the matinee, with the market favoring the visitors despite the series deficit.

What to watch: First pitch is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. ET as both teams conclude their three-game series in Cincinnati.
