What happened: Mickey Moniak and Jake McCarthy are the two outfielders in the proposal. MLB's trade window closes Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. ET.

Why it matters: The framework would require New York to part with a major-league starter instead of offering a prospect-only package. Colorado could convert its outfield depth into rotation help.

What to watch: Watch for signs of direct negotiations or a firm asking price before the deadline.
