What happened: Robert Griffin III declared that everything that could happen did happen during the conclusion of the Week 8 matchup between No. 2 BYU and the UCF squad that recovered a blocked third down kick. The game stretched into double overtime after fans packed the stadium to watch UCF compete without injured quarterback Barnett.

Why it matters: Labeling any contest the wildest ending ever requires extraordinary situational swings, and a crucial special teams recovery combined with two extra periods against the second ranked team in the country clears that standard. Executing in those high pressure moments with Jenkins stepping into the starting lineup makes this finish the clear benchmark for the 2026 season.
