What happened: Buffalo recalled Dennis Gilbert from its AHL affiliate Tuesday. The move reverses the early-October loan that sent Gilbert down.

Why it matters: The move restores a veteran depth option on the Buffalo blue line. Buffalo plays in Montreal on Tuesday night.

What to watch: Lineup confirmation will come at pregame warmups. His role will depend on nightly defensive scratches.
