What happened: Kyle Schwarber has now recorded five career games with at least three home runs, the latest coming during another power surge at the plate. The milestone places him among a small group of hitters to reach that mark multiple times.

Why it matters: Repeated multi-homer outbursts underline Schwarber's standing as one of the game's most dangerous left-handed sluggers and a central force in the middle of his lineup. Sustained power like this shapes a contender's run production and his case in midseason award and All-Star conversations.

What to watch: Watch whether Schwarber keeps the hot streak going in the days ahead and whether he can add to a three-homer-game total that already sits near the top of the all-time list.
