What happened: Pinto converted on the man advantage 33 seconds into the final frame to tie the score at 1-1 before Vegas pulled away. Head coach Travis Green joined Pinto and Batherson to address the defeat afterward.

Why it matters: Ottawa could not carry over the momentum from its 7-4 win over the Rangers earlier in the week. Special teams produced the lone third-period breakthrough as the club looks to stabilize its early regular-season form.

By the numbers: Shane Pinto reached three goals on the 2026-27 season, while Drake Batherson recorded his sixth assist.

What to watch: Ottawa heads on the road to face Los Angeles on Thursday.
