What happened: The Ottawa Senators issued a public nod to forward Nick Cousins during the early stretch of the 2026-27 regular season. Cousins remains a steady bottom-six presence as the club navigates its November schedule.

Why it matters: Cousins provides veteran stability and checking depth after he was re-signed to a two-year contract extension in July. His defensive reliability on the lower lines underpins Ottawa's forward rotation across the 82-game campaign.

What to watch: Ottawa continues regular-season play as the coaching staff balances checking-line usage and special teams assignments.
