What happened: After attending the WNBA Finals opener at Ballhalla, Steve Kerr plans to tune in as the Golden State Valkyries play an unusual weekday afternoon tipoff. Kerr joked that the midday slot still beats playing that night at a YMCA.

Why it matters: Breaking a 2-2 series tie put the Valkyries on the verge of securing a championship in the postseason. An afternoon start for a potential title-clinching contest shifts a marquee WNBA Finals matchup out of prime time due to arena scheduling.

What to watch: Golden State takes the floor for the afternoon tipoff aiming to close out the WNBA Finals without needing a decisive finale.
