Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Sep 41 min read

What happened: Denver first signed Rapp on Aug. 20 after he spent three seasons with Buffalo. He requested time at home shortly after joining the club.

Why it matters: A reunion would give Denver experienced safety depth before the 2026 season. Any return would likely begin on the practice squad, leaving a path to game-day activation.

By the numbers: Rapp has played 93 career games with 72 starts, totaling 488 tackles, 12 interceptions and 31 passes defensed. He appeared in six games for Buffalo in 2025 after opening his career with the Rams.

What to watch: Watch whether Denver offers Rapp a second contract before Week 1.
