What happened: The Houston Texans selected Michigan tight end Marlin Klein with the 59th overall pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Klein, a German-born player with 12 college starts, is a traditional 'Y' tight end who dominates at the point of attack. This follows recent Texans selections of Keylan Rutledge at No. 26 and Kayden McDonald at No. 36.

Why it matters: Klein's blocking prowess bolsters Texans' tight end group for the 2026 season run game. His upside addresses depth needs after aggressive trades up the board. Continues Houston's focus on trench talent amid playoff aspirations.

What to watch: Monitor Texans' next draft pick and Klein's rookie minicamp performance.
