The Townsville Fire have re-signed Catelyn Van Es and added Bree Stephens to their roster as Development Players for WNB Via @WNBL on X

What happened: Townsville junior Bree Stephens earns her first place on the Fire's WNBL roster. Catelyn Van Es returns for a second season in the development program.

Why it matters: The moves add continuity and local talent as the defending champions prepare for WNBL27. Both players can develop within the senior setup while providing roster depth.

By the numbers: Townsville won its fifth WNBL championship last season, completing a 2-0 Grand Final Series sweep with a 108-105 victory.

What to watch: Their roles should become clearer when Townsville hosts the WNBL27 Tip Off event in September.
